I wrote Home Town Pride for East L.A., barrio pride and the families, friends and communities that shaped me, then stayed in my heart wherever life led.

Some places never really leave you.

The origin

The neighborhood is remembered through the lessons it taught: respect in the street, loyalty among friends, sacrifice inside families and pride in a culture that became part of personal identity. East L.A. supplies the home ground, but the invitation extends to anyone whose community still travels with them.
